Needle felting is the art of sculpting wool into 3D shapes using a special barbed needle, which binds the fibres together. Each bird begins life as a ball of wool roving. My birds can take from 6 to 15 hours to make, with love being poured into each and every one. I have been needle felting since 2003 and have been hooked since.
My name is Aimee, and I live on a narrowboat, based on the Ashby Canal in rural Leicestershire with my scruffy dog, Jingle. I create my needle felt bird sculptures from my floating home.
